Why we're raising funds
ARISE High School is a small charter school in Oakland, California. Due to recent cutbacks in the California state budget -- as well as the financial constraints that are typical for new charter schools -- we do not currently have enough funds to pay for scientific equipment for our students' biology and physics classes.
Thanks to support from people like you, we raised over $1000 to buy biology supplies for the Fall 2008 semester. Now we are making plans for the Spring 2009 physics course, and we need your help once again. Your donations will go to buy the equipment needed to teach our students about how the universe is put together, how matter and energy work with each other, and how we can conserve energy in an increasingly "wired" society.
